I am a Certified Financial Planner at First Wealth. My role is to create sustainable relationships with new and existing First Wealth clients by providing them with Lifestyle Financial planning. I have always had a keen interest in investing and providing the right help to clients which sparked my interest towards the field – I’ve been in Financial Planning since 2000.
I was a Financial Planner in South Africa for 11 years. I moved over to the UK to continue doing what I love, in a country that I have always wanted to live in. The transition from Financial Planning in South Africa to UK has been seamless as the investment solutions and products are on par. Ethics, honesty and integrity are the key underlying factors in the profession as well, across both countries. The one nuance is there is a big emphasis at First Wealth on making financial planning more exciting and succinct by focusing on the Financial Plan and providing solutions to achieve that plan.
My responsibilities are to provide the right financial advice to clients by providing a financial plan to suit their individual needs and objectives. My career has definitely taken a different turn, as here at First Wealth it’s not just about giving advice on investing and protection products, it’s also about delving deeper into client’s objectives, motivators, and behaviour and helping them grow to make their lives more successful.
My next step is to become a Chartered Financial Planner and to have at least 150 clients to look after at First Wealth.
I am very passionate about building relationships with people, travelling, scuba diving, eating different cuisines and football.
Let your true personality shine with clients, allow yourself to learn from your peers, and build your knowledge through understanding new legislature and products.
I enjoy keeping fit by going to gym, running, playing squash and golf. If I’m not exercising, I will be spending quality time with my fiancé – often going out and trying new restaurants and playing with our two Burmese cats. I love music and often listen to some of my favourite tracks to switch off and relax.
I used to work as a Ski Lift operator in New Hampshire United States.
My Grandfather gave me £20 when I was young and said to me , “ Spend a little, save a little”. That quote has stuck with me and has definitely resonated with me throughout my life and career. I love so many different genres of music and songs, but if I have to choose one it would be ‘I need you tonight’ by INXS.
